Headlining the event includes a long list of Covington's fellow musicians and friends. Performances by Alvin Taylor & The Joey Covington All Star Band, Peter Albin & Sam Andrews Original Members of Big Brother & The Holding Company featuring Janis Joplin, The Gypsy Express, Ukulele Ray, The Roni Lee Band Featuring Lynn Sorenesen from Bad Company, California, Sara Groban, Shirley Evaro, Calista Carradine, Janelle Sadler, Janette Turner, Bishopric Robert Taylor and Jai (Gospel) and many other famous celebrity musicians and guests.
This is a global event for people who can't make it to Palm Desert. The entire world is invited to watch the event online. The tribute concert will celebrate Covington's life as a drummer, percussionist and friend. Proceeds will support ''The Well in the Desert'' who feed the poor and needy in the Coachella Valley-Palm Springs Area, assist a fellow musician with medical needs, and assist with Joey's funeral expenses.
